About

Strategic counsel. Institutional mission. Practical decisions.

I help leaders translate complex legal requirements into clear, defensible action.

I am currently In-House Counsel and a strategic legal adviser serving the University of North Georgia, one of the nation's six senior military colleges. I help institutional leaders translate complex legal requirements into practical decisions that advance the university's educational, public-service, military, research, and business missions.

My practice spans government and public-sector governance, commercial transactions, technology and data initiatives, research partnerships, athletics, auxiliary operations, risk management, student affairs, employment matters, public records, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. I regularly work across legal, executive, academic, military, operational, and external-partner environments.

A central focus of my work is helping institutions adopt innovation responsibly. This includes advising on artificial intelligence, emerging technology, wearable-research initiatives, data governance, institutional partnerships, licensing, and collaborations involving public and private organizations.

Before entering government and public-sector law, I built experience in litigation, investigations, private practice, client advocacy, and legal-business leadership. That background gives me a practical perspective: legal counsel should do more than identify risk — it should help leaders understand their options, make defensible decisions, and accomplish the mission.
